5 Heartfelt Gift Ideas for Moms

Let’s talk gifts. Specifically, gifts for moms. I recently asked some boss mom’s what the best gift they received was and many answered anything that their children crafted.

One husband had the first drawing their daughter ever drew of their family framed and it still hangs proudly in my friend’s home.

Another mompenur I know gave me a tear-jerking answer. Here is what she said:

When we found out we had lost our baby at 14 weeks I was so full of grief that I couldn’t just sit in it yet. I needed to get away with my family. My friend asked what I needed and I told her nothing right now and that we were looking at going to go to Portland for the weekend. Two hours later she dropped off this basket. In it were gift certificates to restaurants and activities in Portland. And a three-night stay at a hotel (for a family of 5 was a big deal). There were snacks for the car ride and small things for the kids to do. My friend rallied with others from our church to come to us where we needed. At a time I felt the most raw I also felt the most loved and supported.”

How you make someone feel, especially when that person is in most need of comfort really makes a difference.

HERE ARE 5 HEARTFELT IDEAS

if you need a little inspiration to love on the mom(s) in your life.

  1. For the Mom who Loves to Write:

A Mother’s Story

What would you give to read your moms diary when she was an adolescent?

This journal is a gift to mom but for you.

It gives you the opportunity to shine the spotlight on mom. There are writing prompts in this book that help your mom express and reflect on her past. When she is finished writing in it, she can share it with you so you can get to know her better.

I gifted a very similar journal to my mom and I’m eager to see what memories filled the pages in her journal.

2.For the Sentimental Mom:

Custom Hand Written Pillow

My friend Krista and her husband who live in Canada own a custom home sign shop. They are serious about making sure that every order is to your liking.

Their customer service is beyond 5 stars.

One of my favorite things they offer is their custom hand written pillows. The pandemic made Krista miss her parents a lot. So, she decided to take her mom’s handwriting from a card she had sent and made a pillowcase so that she could feel closer to her mom.

Here is what Krista wrote in a recent IG post about this beautiful item: “Do you have a treasured handwritten note or letter from a loved one? Is there something you hold so dear to your heart and you wish you could display it better?

We can take that heartfelt note and turn it into a pillow (or wood sign).

This would be a sweet sentiment if you write something for your new baby, your parent, your spouse or a dear friend especially in times like these! You can even transform a favourite piece of artwork from your child.”

They were gracious enough to provide you beautiful blog reader a special discount code. So if you purchase with them just add APPHOTO for your very special discount at checkout.

3. For the Self-Less Mom:

Let’s face it. All moms are super selfless, but just because they can do it all and are happy sacrificing all the time doesn’t mean they should. Moms are so busy taking care of us that they forget to take care of themselves.

If you have a local spa, take mom there. Spend the day hydrating your face, getting messages, so mom can provide her body the relaxation it deserves.

Better yet, have the spa come to you. Why not have a girls spa night? Check out my home girl Ruby’s skin care line. Her all-natural oils are amazing. She provides spa facial kits so you can test out her most popular products and she even hosts zoom spa parties so if you want to get the women in your family together for a fun night of skin care, please do yourself a favor and reach out to Ruby proud owner of Desert Dreams Organics. You can follow her at @desertdreamsorg or just purchase her products directly on her website.

Here are my favorite products. I promise your skin will thank you!

  1. Slumber Balm- is a transdermal magnesium rich butter that you put on your feet to provide you with better sleep. It’s amazing!
  2. Face Fabulous Foaming Wash paired with her
  3. Face Fabulous Cleansing Oil – takes of make up and leaves your skin hydrated
  4.  Crystal Dream Eye Cream – for the dark circles underneath the eyes
  5. Face Fabulous Night Serum– to get your beauty sleep right
  6. Sun Ray Radiance Oil- to keep your face hydrated throughout the day. Gives you a great glow and smells amazing
  7. Oasis Lash & Brow Serum- helps get volume on for both lashes and eyebrows.

4. For Musically Talented Moms:

MAMA SING MY SONG

I recently came across this amazing IG account who specializes in creating personalized songs and lullabies for children. You can buy mom and her new baby a song that they can sing to the newest member of the family every time they put them to sleep, every time they need to be comforted.

This is such a precious idea I needed to share it with you. Give the new mama or the musically talented mom the gift of song.

5. For EVERY Mom

This is a shameless plug.

Not just for me but for any photographer. During this time where moms are more at the fronts of our minds photographers have specials on “mommy & me mini sessions” that are usually exclusive to newsletter subscribers.

Last year taught us that tomorrow is not guaranteed. Document your beautiful moms while you still have the chance. If you haven’t seen your mom in a while (I haven’t seen mine in 2 years already!) use this as an opportunity to celebrate the reunion. For being an amazing blog reader, I want to give you a special deal.

If you are in the Capitol Region area, I will be hosting Mommy & Me Minis Saturday May 8th & Sunday May 9th .

You have 2 options:

One of my favorite scriptures reminds us that “there is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving.” (Acts 20:35)

However small or big the gesture, as long as it’s from the heart, it will be appreciated.

Happy giving friend.
