How to Find your WHY

Friend, have you heard about this amazing Tedx Talk by Simon Sineck titled “How Great Leaders Inspire Action.”

If you haven’t, do yourself a favor and watch it before you continue reading. Seriously, I’ll wait.

Now that your back. What were your take aways? Feel free to comment below, I’d love to hear your thoughts on Sineck’s talk. I’m sure you noticed the phrase Simon Sineck repeated throughout his lecture:

“People don’t buy what you sell, they buy why you sell it.”

Knowing the reason why you do anything is important. If you are running a business, knowing your why is imperative. I’ll give you 2 good reasons why you should solidify your why:

ONE: It allows you to draw people who believe in the mission behind your business, you know those amazing people that not only are loyal customers but that become brand evangelist.

TWO: Knowing your why keeps you from quitting. Let’s face it, running a business is hard, so on the days when you want to throw in the towel OR imposter syndrome starts knocking at your door, your why can motivate you to continue.

I really hope you take the time to investigate your very own why. I’ve created a PDF to help you figure it out using Sineck’s Gold Circle theory. I do this exercise with my branding clients and they have benefited greatly. Now it’s your turn.

Happy searching!
